Tyler the Truck Guy

SHORT FILM

The first Project I want to showcase is my involvement with an up-coming short film named “Tyler the Truck Guy”. The short film is an animated film set in a fantasy wholly world. My roles included:

  • UV Artist

  • 3D Texturing

  • Level/Set Designer

  • Animator

I also textured the house using Substance Painter 3D.

SOFTWARE USED: SUBSTANCE PAINTER 3D

Here is the final result of the house in the scene.

Here is what I UV’d. Shown above are a house and a porch swing that will be used in the environment for the film.

SOFTWARE USED: AUTODESK MAYA

Like I mentioned, I also built the scene itself (Designed the Level/Set). The film is a work in progress, that is why a lot of the assets are not textured yet.

I was provided with the assets needed (and also modeled and textured some of these assets myself).

The image on the right shows the main character’s house; Tyler. Tyler is a dirty guy, one who does not take care of his property. That is why I’ve made his yard messy, as requested by the director.

3D Modeling

Diamond Bottle

This was created using Maya for a 3D modeling course. My professor gave me the freedom to model what ever bottle I wanted. But it had to be a bottle.

I chose to model this diamond bottle. This bottle was modeled when I was already familiar with Maya.

This project is special to me because I made this in my beginning stages of 3D modeling. This is the project that gave me a good amount of experience for 3D modeling, UV, and 3D Texturing.

SOFTWARE USED: AUTODESK MAYA

I also Textured the bottle using Unreal Engine 5 and made a little scene for it. In addition, I made an animation for the bottle shown below.

SOFTWARE USED (For the scene): UNREAL ENGINE 5

3D Texturing

The pictures above are from the short film “Tyler the Truck Guy” I mentioned. I was given the task to texture the above assets. Like I mentioned, the film is set in a wholly world, so I was required to give them a fabric texture.

SOFTWARE USED: SUBSTANCE PAINTER 3D

For a course, I was given a Sci-fi ship model to texture to my desire. I chose to texture the ship as if it were abandoned for decades, and found again. The ship shows clear wear and tear.

In this same course, I was given this dragon head model, and textured it to my desire.

Environment Builds

Abandoned Medieval Colosseum

This was my very first 3D environment project.

The arena has been abandoned after an explosion that broke the entire kingdom.

This environment is a Post-Apocalyptic scene that takes place in the Medieval Times. It was created along with 3 other team members. This project taught me a lot, in terms of hard skills and soft skills.

Software Used: Unreal Engine 4

Post-Apocalyptic Town

This scene takes place after zombies have taken over. It is a small post-apocalyptic town somewhere in Canada.

This environment build showcases my skills in Building an environment that follows a story. As the team lead, I was responsible for the level design, and building the environment.

I was not responsible for creating the Assets themselves, I only placed the assets where they belonged.

Software Used: Unreal Engine 5
